North Dakota Man Sentenced for Abusive Sexual Contact

Fort Yates Man Abused Nieces and Nephew

A Fort Yates, North Dakota, man has been sentenced to 20 years in custody for abusive sexual contact of a minor, announced U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson. Cecil White Bull, age 41, was sentenced on July 28, 2014, by U.S. District Judge Charles B. Kornmann.

White Bull was convicted of Abusive Sexual Contact of a Minor and was sentenced to 20 years in custody, 10 years of supervised release, a $15,000 fine, and a $300 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.

According to the investigation, White Bull sexually abused his nieces and nephew while he helped care for them at his mother’s house in Bullhead between November 1, 2009, and October 31, 2011.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Troy R. Morley prosecuting the case.

White Bull was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

He was indicted by a federal grand jury on July 17, 2013, and pleaded guilty on April 22, 2014.

The disturbing case serves as a reminder of the severity of child abuse and the importance of protecting our most vulnerable citizens.
