Amir Phillip Wilson, NSA Gate Ramming, Maryland 2025

FORT MEADE, MD – A brazen attempt to breach National Security Agency grounds turned violent last week when Amir Phillip Wilson, 23, of Greenbelt, Maryland, allegedly rammed through a security checkpoint, injuring an NSA police officer. The incident, which unfolded on September 24, 2025, resulted in a high-speed pursuit and significant damage to federal property.

According to a criminal complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland, Wilson drove onto the NSA campus in Fort Meade without presenting required credentials. An NSA police officer at the checkpoint observed the vehicle and attempted to initiate a stop. Instead of complying, Wilson allegedly accelerated, reaching speeds of 40 to 50 miles per hour in a desperate attempt to evade law enforcement.

The pursuit quickly escalated into a dangerous chase. Wilson’s vehicle collided with two marked NSA police vehicles responding to the scene, causing injury to one of the officers. Witnesses reported a chaotic scene as the suspect continued to drive recklessly. The chase culminated when Wilson crashed into a concrete retaining wall, bringing his vehicle – and the pursuit – to a screeching halt.

“This was a deliberate act of aggression against federal law enforcement,” stated U.S. Attorney Kelly O. Hayes during a press briefing. “The safety of our officers and the security of the NSA campus are paramount. We will prosecute this case to the fullest extent of the law.” Special Agent in Charge William J. DelBagno of the FBI’s Baltimore Field Office and NSA Police Chief Craig Lustig joined Hayes in condemning the incident.

Wilson is currently facing charges of assaulting Federal law enforcement officers. He is scheduled to appear for a detention hearing on Wednesday, October 1, at 10 a.m. Assistant U.S. Attorneys G. A. Massucco-LaTaif and LaRai Everett are assigned to the case. While the details of the officer’s injuries haven’t been released, sources confirm they are not life-threatening.

It’s crucial to remember that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation, and Amir Phillip Wilson is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland encourages anyone with information related to this case to contact the FBI’s Baltimore Field Office.
