NY Man Sentenced for Harassing Threats Against Conn. Resident

Elijah Whyte, 30, of White Plains, New York, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport to five years of probation for making numerous harassing and threatening communications against a Connecticut resident.

According to court documents and statements made in court, between August and October 2023, Whyte bombarded his victim with 1,330 text messages, 72 phone calls, and three voicemail messages. Many of the messages contained explicit threats, discussing violence towards the victim, their children, and home.

Whyte has been detained since November 1, 2023. He pleaded guilty to making repeated harassing telephone communications on May 16, 2025.

This harrowing case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel George.

The Connecticut District’s United States Attorney, David X. Sullivan, emphasized the severity of the offense, stating that such actions are intolerable and will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law.

Elijah Whyte’s sentence sends a strong message that threats against individuals and their families will not be tolerated in our communities.
