Ohio Man Admits to Selling Meth Near West Virginia Apartments

Myron Henderson, a 40-year-old man from Euclid, Ohio, admitted in federal court to selling methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a protected location, marking a grim milestone in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the Ohio Valley region.

Henderson, also known as “Charlie,” pled guilty to one count of Distribution of Methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a Protected Location. The sale occurred in June 2019 near the North Park Apartments in Ohio County, West Virginia—a location that law enforcement has long monitored for narcotics activity.

The charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of one year in prison and up to 40 years behind bars, along with a potential fine of up to $2,000,000. As outlined by federal prosecutors, the actual sentence will be determined under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, weighing the severity of the offense and Henderson’s prior criminal history.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins is handling the prosecution for the federal government. The case was investigated by the Ohio Valley Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded operation that unites multiple law enforcement agencies to combat drug-related crime across state lines.

Participating agencies in the investigation included the Drug Enforcement Administration, West Virginia State Police, Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, and Wheeling Police Department. Additional support came from the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office and the St. Clairsville Police Department, underscoring the regional effort to dismantle drug networks.

U.S. Magistrate Judge James P. Mazzone presided over the plea hearing. No sentencing date has been announced, but federal authorities stress that crimes involving drugs near protected locations—such as housing complexes and schools—will continue to be prosecuted with maximum severity.
