Ohio Man Gets Three-Year Sentence for Crack Cocaine Possession

Huntington, W.Va. – In a landmark drug crime case, Dan Bean, 42, from Toledo, Ohio, has been sentenced to three years in federal prison for possession of cocaine and crack cocaine with intent to distribute.

According to court documents, Huntington Police Department officers searched Bean’s residence on Artisan Avenue in Huntington back in 2018. The seizure resulted in the confiscation of approximately 55 grams of cocaine and 20 grams of cocaine base, or ‘crack.’

Bean’s guilty plea brought an end to this high-profile case. United States Attorney William S. Thompson lauded the investigative efforts of the Huntington Police Department, emphasizing their dedication to fighting drug crime in the region.

The sentence was imposed by United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers, with Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie S. Taylor leading the prosecution. Upon completing his prison term, Bean will be subject to three years of supervised release.
