Ohio Woman Gets Five Years for Meth Distribution

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – In a relentless campaign against drug trafficking, an Ohio woman was today sentenced to federal prison for her role in a methamphetamine distribution ring. Danielle Seagraves, 43, of Ohio, faced the music as she was handed a sentence of 60 months behind bars, followed by four years of supervised release.

“An Ohio woman and 33 grams of meth,” U.S. Attorney Mike Stuart declared, echoing the severity of the crime. “This investigation removed a significant amount of meth from Jackson County. We always have, and we always will, hold drug dealers accountable.”

The charges stem from an incident on April 18, 2017, when Seagraves was caught with approximately 33 grams of methamphetamine in her possession. Her intention was clear: to sell the dangerous drug to individuals in and around Ripley. However, before she could complete her sinister plan, law enforcement moved swiftly, apprehending Seagraves and seizing the illicit substance.

Seagraves’s conviction was a collaborative effort between the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Ravenswood and Ripley Police Departments, the West Virginia State Police, and the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force. The investigation was robust and thorough, ensuring that justice was served.

Imposing the sentence was United States District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin. Assistant United States Attorney Kristin F. Scott handled the prosecution with determination.
