Francisco Olvera-Dominguez, Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping, Illinois 2013

On January 10, 2013, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois filed a federal criminal case against Francisco Olvera-Dominguez. The defendant was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1201.

The case, known as USA v. Olvera-Dominguez, was heard in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (ILND Federal District). According to court documents, the defendant and his co-conspirators allegedly kidnapped a victim from the state of Wisconsin and transported them to Chicago, Illinois.

The charges against Olvera-Dominguez carried a maximum penalty of life imprisonment. In May 2013, the defendant pleaded guilty to the charges. He was subsequently sentenced to 10 years in prison.

As part of his plea agreement, Olvera-Dominguez also agreed to cooperate with federal authorities in their ongoing investigation into human trafficking and other related crimes.
