Orlando Smoke Shop Was Gun & Drug Hub: 5 Face Federal Charges

ORLANDO, FL – What looked like a simple smoke shop on the surface was allegedly a thriving hub for illegal activity, according to a federal indictment unsealed today. Five men are now facing serious federal charges stemming from an investigation into Smoke Break Productions, an Orlando business accused of functioning as a drug and gun marketplace.

United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced the indictment, detailing a conspiracy that allegedly spanned from November 14, 2024, to July 23, 2025. At the center of the operation is Angel Luis Carrasquillo (42, Orlando), accused of running Smoke Break Productions as a front for distributing narcotics and firearms. Carrasquillo, along with co-defendants Rogelio Vidal, Jr. (30, Orlando) and Andrew Abbott (35, Brooksville), face up to 20 years in prison on the charge of Drug Trafficking Conspiracy.

The charges don’t stop there. Carrasquillo is also facing a separate charge of Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, dating back to January 16, 2025, which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years. On April 7, 2025, he’s accused of Drug Trafficking and Using or Carrying a firearm in a Drug Trafficking Crime – the latter carrying a potential sentence of 5 years to life. Another Drug Trafficking charge on June 6, 2025, again involving Abbott, carries a potential 20-year sentence for each man.

The investigation also snared Jahmil Lally (29, Orlando), indicted for Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon between February 26, 2025, and March 7, 2025, facing a potential 15-year sentence. Christopher Alonnzo (23, Orlando) is also accused of Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, stemming from activity between November 21, 2024, and August 1, 2025, and similarly faces up to 15 years if convicted. Court documents paint a picture of a brazen operation operating in plain sight.

Authorities say the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Noah P. Dorman will be prosecuting the case. It’s crucial to remember that an indictment is simply a formal accusation; each defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

This case falls under the umbrella of “Operation Take Back America,” a nationwide Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling cartels, and tackling violent crime. The operation seeks to streamline resources from Project Safe Neighborhoods, focusing on a comprehensive approach to public safety. This isn’t just about taking down one smoke shop; it’s about sending a message that the DOJ is serious about reclaiming communities from criminal elements.
