Breaking: The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has appointed Paul P. Worthing as the new San Francisco Regional Director.
In his new role, Mr. Worthing will spearhead both risk management and consumer protection supervision programs for financial institutions based in the San Francisco Region. With over three decades of experience with the FDIC, he brings a wealth of knowledge to this position.
Worthing’s career with the FDIC spans more than 33 years. He has held numerous leadership roles within the Division of Risk Management Supervision, including serving as Deputy Regional Director in the San Francisco Region for the past six years and Assistant Regional Director for seven years. His tenure began as a Bank Examiner in Fort Worth, Texas, followed by Senior Bank Examiner duties in Phoenix, Arizona.
Before his FDIC career, Worthing was a Case Manager and Senior Case Manager at the San Francisco Regional Office. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.
The appointment comes after the retirement of Kathy Moe on August 30, 2023. The FDIC has expressed confidence in Worthing’s ability to continue the agency’s mission of ensuring stability and public confidence in the nation’s financial system.
