Pedro Omar Martinez-Alba Indicted for Re-entering the US After Deportation
Pedro Omar Martinez-Alba, a 30-year-old man from Mexico, has been charged with illegally re-entering the United States after being deported twice.
According to a one-count indictment, Martinez-Alba was formally removed from the country by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement on January 23, 2014, and November 24, 2015. He was found to be illegally present in Westmoreland County on April 12, 2017.
The indictment charges Martinez-Alba with one count of illegal re-entry after deportation, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.
The investigation leading to the indictment was conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Martinez-Alba is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Assistant United States Attorney Paul E. Hull is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
