A 40-year-old Franklin resident has been sentenced to 40 months in prison for violating federal firearms laws.
Phillip John Dechant, a convicted felon, was found to have possessed numerous firearms on or about April 22, 2020, which is a federal offense.
According to information presented to the court, Dechant’s possession of firearms violated federal law, which prohibits convicted felons from possessing firearms or ammunition.
United States District Judge Susan Paradise Baxter imposed the sentence on Dechant.
