A ring of five Philadelphia stick-up men is facing serious time after a federal jury found them guilty of a sprawling carjacking conspiracy that left one man dead and another silenced. The crew allegedly ripped off at least 29 vehicles, turning a profit by shipping the stolen cars to Africa for resale. The crimes spanned from February 2022 through July 2024, terrorizing drivers across the city.
Mikal McCracken, 24, aka “Kal,” is looking at the longest stretch. Jurors convicted him of carjacking resulting in death – the February 2022 murder of a former Marine – and conspiracy to whack a potential witness, also in February 2022. He’s tied to an additional 20 armed carjackings, five of which involved victims being shot or fired upon. One unlucky driver was targeted and shot in two separate carjackings a month apart.
Amin Muse, 24, known as “Miyn” and “Miyns,” shared in the blame for the Marine’s murder and the witness intimidation plot. He was also found guilty in connection with eight other armed carjackings, including one where shots were fired at the victim. Aleem Abdul-Hakim, 23, aka “Fatleem,” is implicated in the Marine’s death and another five armed robberies. Dean Fosque, 28, “30” to those who knew him, racked up convictions for nine armed carjackings, with three resulting in shootings—one victim was actually hit.
Kavon Coleman, 23, “Ski,” played a smaller role, convicted of offenses related to just four armed carjacking attempts. The feds say these guys weren’t just looking for a joyride; they were running a sophisticated operation, fueled by violence and greed. Sentencing dates have not yet been announced, but expect lengthy terms for all five.
