A brazen daylight heist at a Kensington pharmacy ended in a high-speed chase and a lengthy prison sentence for 31-year-old Michael Nixon.
On December 22, 2021, Nixon forced a pharmacy employee back into the store, brandishing a black firearm as he demanded access to the safe and ordered the staffer to load up plastic bags with narcotics.
As the employee complied, Nixon urged them to ‘hurry up’ before fleeing the scene in a blue Dodge Charger, with police hot on his tail.
A high-speed pursuit through the city ensued, with officers observing what appeared to be medicine bottles being tossed from the vehicle.
Following a minor accident, Nixon and the driver were apprehended, and a search of the vehicle yielded multiple bottles of stolen narcotics, including alprazolam tablets and methylphenidate hydrochloride tablets.
