Pittsburgh Pedophile Faces 190 Years for Child Exploitation

A 61-year-old Pittsburgh man is facing a staggering 190 years in prison after being charged with multiple counts of child exploitation and sex crimes.

George Orbin, a resident of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on charges of production, attempted production, and possession of material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to the Superseding Indictment, Orbin allegedly employed, used, persuaded, induced, enticed, and coerced minors to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of the sexual exploitation of the minors on multiple occasions between 2011 and 2013.

The indictment also alleges that Orbin attempted to employ, use, persuade, induce, entice, and coerce minors to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of the sexual exploitation of the minors in 2012 and 2013.

Furthermore, the indictment claims that Orbin knowingly possessed videos and images in computer graphic files, the production of which involved the use of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct, some of whom had not yet attained 12 years of age, in 2013.

Orbin’s alleged crimes are punishable by a maximum total sentence of 190 years in prison, a fine of $1,750,000 or both.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jessica Lieber Smolar on behalf of the government.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office conducted the investigation leading to the Superseding Indictment in this case.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Orbin is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

A Superseding Indictment is an accusation, and a defendant’s guilt is determined through the judicial process.
