Lee Adams, Involuntary Manslaughter, Louisiana 2014

A brutal attack in the U.S. Penitentiary in Pollock, Louisiana, has led to a 24-month prison sentence for 53-year-old Lee Adams.

Adams, a prisoner from Santa Clara County, California, pleaded guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter after he assaulted a fellow inmate in 2014.

The incident occurred on October 31, 2014, when Adams beckoned the inmate into his cell, striking him and causing him to fall backwards, which resulted in a fatal skull fracture and massive brain injury.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon B. Brown prosecuted the case, which ultimately led to Adams’ sentencing.

U.S. District Judge Dee D. Drell handed down the sentence of 24 months in prison, in addition to five years of supervised release.
