Armed Carjacking in Philadelphia Lands Two Men Behind Bars
PHILADELPHIA — In a brazen act of violence, Quadir Findley, 25, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and his co-defendant Eric Dickerson, 25, also of Philadelphia, were sentenced for their roles in an August 5, 2023, armed carjacking in the City of Brotherly Love. Findley was handed down a 14-year prison term, to be followed by 5 years of supervised release. Dickerson, who was previously sentenced on April 16, 2025, received a 7-year prison sentence, with 3 years of supervised release.
According to court records, on August 5, 2023, the defendants approached the victim and forcibly stole the victim’s vehicle at gunpoint. During the heinous offense, Findley threatened to kill the victim and forced the victim to the ground before the defendants fled in the stolen vehicle.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Philadelphia Police Department. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Catherine S. Dos Santos and Priya T. De Souza.
Findley was convicted of carjacking, using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Dickerson was convicted of carjacking following a jury trial.
The sentencing of Findley and Dickerson serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of committing violent crimes in our community. It is the hope of law enforcement and the judicial system that these sentences will serve as a deterrent to others who would consider committing similar crimes.
As the City of Philadelphia continues to grapple with the issue of gun violence, the sentencing of Findley and Dickerson is a step in the right direction. It is a testament to the tireless efforts of law enforcement and the judicial system to keep our community safe.
