Grimy Times Exclusive: Two Gunmen Arrested in $300,000 Jewelry Heist

LITTLE ROCK—A brazen daylight robbery at Roberson’s Fine Jewelry on September 22, 2015, has finally seen its perpetrators brought to justice. Quinshod Shaw, 27, and Darris Denton, 29, both from Oklahoma City, Okla., were arrested in connection with the $300,000 heist. The arrests are a result of a collaborative effort between the FBI, the Little Rock Police Department, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas.

According to authorities, Shaw and Denton entered the jewelry store, along with Tony Gabriel, 49, and Siee Ramon Russell, 38, both from Oklahoma City, Okla. While the two gunmen, Shaw and Denton, pointed guns at employees and a customer, Russell smashed jewelry cases with a hammer, and Gabriel grabbed various jewelry, including diamond earrings, bracelets, and rings, and placed it in a bag. The group stole more than $300,000 worth of jewelry.

The getaway drivers, Lenora Grant, 60, Jobie Kirk, 51, and Darryl Madden, 52, were also named in the indictment. The group fled the scene in a stolen truck, which they abandoned in a nearby neighborhood. Surveillance video confirmed the actions taken by the defendants.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas, the FBI, and the Little Rock Police Department worked tirelessly to bring the perpetrators to justice. The case is a testament to the effectiveness of interagency collaboration in combating violent crime.

Quinshod Shaw and Darris Denton are the latest additions to the list of defendants in the case. The two gunmen were arrested in separate incidents, with Shaw being taken into custody in Norman, Okla., and Denton being served an arrest warrant while incarcerated in the McAlford Corrections Center in Stringfield, Okla. The arrests bring the total number of defendants to six.
