PENSACOLA, FLORIDA – A shocking crime unfolded at Coyote’s Sports Bar, located next to Cordova Mall in Pensacola, where 33-year-old Quinton L. Pete, of Ocala, Florida, allegedly attempted to rob individuals on March 9, 2022.
The federal indictment alleges that Pete committed the crime with a firearm, despite being a convicted felon. The Pensacola Police Department responded to the scene and worked in conjunction with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the United States Marshals Service to locate Pete in Dallas, Texas.
Pete was taken into custody without incident, and the case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David L. Goldberg. This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), the centerpiece of the government’s violent crime reduction efforts.
As part of its PSN strategy, the United States Attorney’s Office is urging citizens to lock their car doors, particularly at night, to prevent burglaries from unlocked automobiles, which are a significant source of guns for criminals.
The indictment is merely an allegation by a grand jury and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial, during which the government will prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida is one of the nation’s principal litigators, serving under the direction of the Attorney General. To access public court documents, visit the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida website.
