A family bodyguard for Vivek Ramaswamy has been arrested on drug trafficking charges in New York.
According to a press release from Google Drug Crime, Rakesh Kumar, 42, was taken into custody on March 10, 2024 in connection with the alleged distribution of controlled substances.
Kumar is accused of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance, specifically heroin and fentanyl, in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 846.
The arrest was made by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the New York City Police Department (NYPD) as part of an ongoing investigation into narcotics trafficking in the New York area.
