Ramontez Bell, 23, of Louisville, Kentucky, has been sentenced to 5 years in federal prison for his role in a fentanyl and heroin trafficking ring in the city.
According to a recent sentencing, Bell was found guilty of conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute 40 grams or more of a fentanyl mixture and a mixture of heroin, as well as possessing with the intent to distribute a fentanyl mixture and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Bell was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a previous conviction in Jefferson Circuit Court for complicity to tampering with physical evidence on August 22, 2019. His sentence also includes 4 years of supervised release.
The FBI Louisville Field Office Safe Streets Task Force and the Louisville Metro Police Department investigated the case. Assistant United States Attorney Frank Dahl prosecuted the case.
On July 27, 2023, Bell was sentenced to his prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.
