In a shocking turn of events, Rashad Wright, a 32-year-old resident of Baltimore, Maryland, stood trial in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland in 2017. The case, which was filed on January 30th, 2017, drew widespread attention due to the severity of the charges levied against Wright.
Wright was accused of multiple counts of violent crime, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a handgun on his person while committing a crime of violence, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on May 21st, 2016, in which Wright allegedly brandished a firearm during a confrontation with law enforcement.
