LOS ANGELES – A Bellflower woman has been charged with orchestrating a murder-for-hire plot against her boyfriend, who was the beneficiary of a $150,000 life insurance policy. Rasheeda Johnson Turner, 37, was arrested Wednesday evening and faces a statutory maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison if convicted. According to a federal complaint, Turner contracted with an FBI informant to kill her boyfriend, identified as L.G., so she could collect the life insurance payout. Turner allegedly offered the informant $50,000 for the hit. The two discussed the plot in detail over the past two weeks, with Turner even tracking her boyfriend’s location using a mobile app. However, the FBI intervened before the murder could be carried out. Turner made her first court appearance on Thursday and was ordered detained pending trial. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 28, and she is set to appear for an arraignment on January 4.
