Raul Martinez, a 50-year-old Merrillville, Indiana man, has been sentenced to 108 months in prison for possessing with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.
Martinez pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced by United States District Court Senior Judge James T. Moody. In addition to his prison term, Martinez will also serve 4 years of supervised release.
According to documents in the case, Martinez sold cocaine on six separate occasions between October 2021 and July 2022. Law enforcement officials recovered approximately five kilograms of cocaine, nine firearms, ammunition, cocaine presses, digital scales, and a money counter during the execution of a search warrant at his residence.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration Indiana High Intensity Drug Trafficking Task Force. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael J. Toth.
