As the nation prepares for the upcoming general election, a high-ranking official in the Western District of Kentucky has been appointed to oversee the election process and prevent potential election fraud.
According to a recent statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) Raymond D. McGee will serve as the District Election Officer (DEO) for the Western District of Kentucky. In this capacity, McGee will be responsible for handling complaints related to voting rights concerns, threats of violence to election officials or staff, and election fraud.
The appointment of McGee as DEO comes as part of the Justice Department’s nationwide Election Day Program, which aims to ensure that every citizen can vote without interference or discrimination and have their vote counted in a fair and free election.
The program also seeks to protect election officials and staff from unlawful threats of violence and to deter and combat discrimination and intimidation at the polls.
McGee will be on duty in the Western District while the polls are open on election day, and the FBI will have special agents available in each field office and resident agency throughout the country to receive allegations of election fraud and other election abuses.
