Redding’s $1M Cash Heist

A federal jury has indicted Edward Redding, 32, of Detroit, for allegedly masterminding a brazen $1 million cash heist from a Michigan-based armored truck company.

According to court documents, Redding orchestrated the daring robbery on February 10, 2025, at Proseguro Armored Services in Warren, Michigan, making off with millions in cash meant for distribution to the company’s clients.

Redding, who stands accused of conspiracy to commit robbery, faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Prosecutors allege that Redding spent months casing the Proseguro facility, studying the company’s security measures and identifying vulnerabilities in the armored truck’s cash handling procedures.

Redding’s attorneys, Nancy L. McGunn and Andrew Picek, have declined to comment on the case.

The United States government is represented by the Federal Community Defender’s office in the high-profile case.

A trial date has been set for April 15, 2026, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, before Judge Mark A. Goldsmith.
