Norristown Man Charged With Illegal Reentry After Deportation
A Norristown man faces serious charges after allegedly reentering the country illegally following multiple deportations.
Rigoberto Roque-Vazquez, a native and citizen of Guatemala, was charged with illegal reentry after deportation, announced Acting United States Attorney Louis D. Lappen.
The indictment alleges that on or about July 13, 2017, Roque-Vazquez was found in the United States after having been deported from the United States on or about June 11, 2013, March 21, 2014, and October 2, 2015.
According to the indictment, Roque-Vazquez, 46, of Norristown, PA, faces a maximum possible sentence of two years if convicted.
The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations (“ERO”), and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Sean P. McDonnell.
Roque-Vazquez is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
The charges against Roque-Vazquez highlight the importance of immigration enforcement and the consequences of reentering the country illegally.
