Robbie Newby Sentenced to 30 Years for Sexual Exploitation of Child…

A devastating sentence has been handed down to Robbie Newby, 46, of Grapeland, Texas, who has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for the sexual exploitation of children in the Eastern District of Texas.

According to the Department of Justice, Newby pleaded guilty on January 9, 2014, to sexual exploitation of children, after being indicted by a federal grand jury on April 17, 2013. The sentence was handed down by United States District Judge Leonard E. Davis on April 23, 2014.

The details of the case are shocking, with Newby knowingly using and coercing a minor under the age of sixteen to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing visual depictions of such conduct. This heinous crime occurred on or about March 14, 2012, and is a stark reminder of the dangers that children face in our society.

The investigation into Newby’s crimes was conducted by the United States Department of Homeland Security – Homeland Security Investigations (DHS-HSI) and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO). This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
