Rochester Meth Kingpins Busted: 5 Guilty of Conspiracy to Distribute

CONCORD – Five Rochester residents have been brought to justice for their role in a massive methamphetamine trafficking ring, U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young announced.

A federal court in New Hampshire heard the guilty pleas of Monty Granger, 43, Michelle Fredette-Chatman, 38, Edward Deal III, 38, Felix Urrutia, 51, and Hailey Cahill, 28, who all pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Granger, Fredette-Chatman, and Deal III all face charges of distribution of methamphetamine, with Granger facing an additional three counts. Urrutia and Cahill face additional charges of distribution of methamphetamine.

According to investigators, between October 3 and October 12, 2023, Granger sold methamphetamine to a confidential source on three occasions. On October 23, 2023, the confidential source paid Granger for another methamphetamine purchase. Deal organized the drug transaction, with Fredette-Chatman ultimately selling the methamphetamine to the confidential source.

Urrutia and Cahill were also involved in a separate conspiracy, with Cahill selling methamphetamine to Urrutia on several occasions between July 27, 2023, and October 2023. Urrutia then sold the methamphetamine to a confidential source.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Major Offender Task Force led the investigation, with assistance from the Dover and Rochester Police Departments, the Strafford County Sheriff’s Office, and the United States Marshals Service. Assistant U.S. Attorney Heather A. Cherniske is prosecuting the case.

The charge of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances and the distribution of controlled substances provides for a sentence up to 20 years in prison, at least a three-year term of supervised release, and a maximum fine of $1,000,000.
