A 31-year-old Mexican man has been sentenced to time served for illegally re-entering the United States.
Rufino Ramirez De Jesus, a citizen of Mexico, was sentenced to 46 days in jail, the time he has already served, for his crime.
The sentencing took place in Albany, New York, on an undisclosed date.
Ramirez De Jesus had previously been removed to Mexico on February 22, 2014, and again on October 22, 2012.
He was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in Saratoga Springs, New York, on May 30, 2017.
During the sentencing, Ramirez De Jesus was remanded to the custody of the Department of Homeland Security, which will place him into removal proceedings.
The case was investigated by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Albany, NY, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Edward P. Grogan.
