Scituate Man Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Charges

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – In a stunning admission, David C. Duquette, 54, of Scituate, has pleaded guilty in federal court to charges of possession and distribution of child pornography. The disturbing case involves explicit images of prepubescent girls.

Duquette confessed that in February 2019, he shared at least two images of child pornography with an individual he believed to be the father of a 13-year-old girl. However, this person was actually an undercover Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agent.

During online communications with the agent posing as both parents, Duquette revealed past interactions with young teenage girls and their sharing of sexually explicit images. When the agent suggested a shared interest in child pornography, Duquette sent two more explicit images.

On April 17, 2019, HSI agents uncovered approximately 1,400 images of child pornography on Duquette’s cellphone.

Duquette appeared before U.S. District Court Chief Judge John J. McConnell on Monday and is set to be sentenced on March 22, 2022.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Terrence P. Donnelly. United States Attorney Richard B. Myrus announced the charges against Duquette.
