A 54-year-old Salvadoran national, Jose Antonio Del Cid, has pleaded guilty to illegally reentering the United States after being deported for a child sex crime. Del Cid was previously convicted of Aggravated Sexual Battery with a Child Under 13 in Fairfax, Virginia, in 2022, and was sentenced to two years in prison. He was deported to El Salvador in 2023, but was arrested again in Grandview, Missouri, on October 11, 2025, by Immigration & Customs Enforcement.
Del Cid’s guilty plea was entered in federal court before U.S. District Judge Beth Phillips. He faces up to 20 years in federal prison without parole and a maximum fine of $250,000. The sentencing hearing will be scheduled after the completion of a presentence investigation by the United States Probation Office.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration and protecting communities from violent crime. The case was investigated by Immigration & Customs Enforcement, Enforcement & Removal Operations, and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brent Venneman.
Del Cid has been and will remain in custody pending his sentencing hearing. The outcome of this case serves as a reminder of the consequences of illegal reentry, particularly for those with a history of violent or sex crimes.
