Shiprock Woman Sentenced for Brutal Stabbing

A 35-year-old Navajo woman is going down for a brutal stabbing in Shiprock, New Mexico. Angelia Garcia, 35, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, repeatedly stabbed a woman in an unprovoked attack on November 21, 2024.

The victim, Jane Doe, sustained serious wounds, including a deep cut to the back of her neck. During a subsequent interview with agents, Garcia admitted to the attack.

Garcia pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon and is headed to prison for two years.

She’ll be subject to three years of supervised release upon her release from prison, and there’s no parole in the federal system.
