BODY:
In a dark underworld of human trafficking, a 22-year-old Indian national has pleaded guilty to his role in smuggling a dozen aliens into the United States. Shivam LNU, a key player in the operation, coordinated the transportation of these individuals from the Canadian border into Northern New York.
According to court documents, LNU’s scheme began in October 2024 and continued until June 2025. He directed drivers to pick up the aliens from the border and transport them to stash houses and hotels in Plattsburgh, New York. The defendant expected to be paid for his role and even paid his drivers $100 per alien smuggled.
On January 25, 2025, LNU directed a co-conspirator to smuggle 12 aliens from India and the United Kingdom into the United States. The operation was foiled the next day when U.S. Border Patrol agents attempted to stop two vehicles traveling in tandem near the U.S-Canada border. Both vehicles accelerated to avoid agents, triggering a pursuit. One vehicle went off the road and became immobilized, while the other was eventually apprehended.
LNU’s guilty plea marks a significant blow to the human trafficking ring. While the exact sentence has not been announced, the defendant’s plea deal is a testament to the tireless efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating this heinous crime.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of human trafficking and the importance of vigilance in detecting and prosecuting these crimes. As the investigation continues, authorities hope to bring more perpetrators to justice and provide support to the victims of this despicable crime.
The U.S. Department of Justice has not announced the exact sentence for LNU, but his guilty plea is a significant step in the right direction.
