In a tragic incident that shook the Delaware River community, a collision between a launch and a barge on Sunday night resulted in the drowning of six men. The fateful encounter took place off Beverly, New Jersey, as a launch carrying nine men from Philadelphia navigated the treacherous waters. The little boat, hired by a group of men mostly residing in Philadelphia’s northeast corner, was headed back home after a day spent near Croyden on the Pennsylvania side of the river.
