Ski Mask Bandit Carjacker Jailed for Nine Years

Un’Darius Dickerson, a 24-year-old from Jackson, Mississippi, has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison for carjacking and brandishing a firearm during the crime. On November 19, 2024, Dickerson, donning a ski mask, approached a victim and demanded her keys at gunpoint. He fled in her car until Southaven police apprehended him the next day.

After his arrest, Dickerson confessed to robbing the victim and cooperated with law enforcement in recovering the firearm he used. The ATF and Memphis Police Department led the investigation that resulted in Dickerson’s capture.

Assistant Attorney General A. Tysen Duva and U.S. Attorney D. Michael Dunavant announced the sentence, which is part of a wider effort by the Justice Department’s Criminal Division to tackle violent crimes in the region. The ATF and local law enforcement agencies have been working together to combat gang-related violence through the Violent Crime Initiative.

This case underscores the ongoing commitment of federal and local authorities to protect citizens from violent crime. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Musselwhite prosecuted the case, which was part of a coordinated effort with the Criminal Division’s Violent Crime and Racketeering Section.

Un’Darius Dickerson’s sentence sends a strong message that armed carjacking and other violent crimes will be met with severe punishment.
