Skylar Davis, Murder, New York 2015

Skylar Davis, a member of the Southside gang, has been charged with murder in New York. The 34-year-old defendant is accused of participating in the August 2015 murder of Sammy Stubbs, who was shot in Newburgh.

The charges against Davis were announced by Geoffrey S. Berman, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and other officials. Davis is also charged with racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to distribute heroin, and other crimes.

The Southside gang, centered in Newburgh, was known for its violent activities, including narcotics trafficking, robbery, and murder. Members of the gang sold heroin, crack cocaine, and marijuana in the gang’s territory and promoted their gang affiliation on social media sites.

According to the superseding indictment, Davis and DAVONTE HAWKINS, aided and abetted by others, murdered Sammy Stubbs during a botched robbery of a card game in Newburgh on August 13, 2015.

Davis is currently in custody and has been arraigned in White Plains federal court. The other defendants are also charged with various crimes related to the racketeering conspiracy and narcotics trafficking.

The superseding indictment alleges that the Southside gang was a criminal enterprise that engaged in numerous violent and criminal activities from 2014 to 2017.
