Rapper Soulja Boy Arrested on Weapons Charge During Traffic Stop in Fairfax District
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) announced the arrest of Soulja Boy, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, on a weapons charge during a traffic stop in the Fairfax District on April 10, 2024.
According to the LAPD, the traffic stop occurred at approximately 8:00 PM on April 10, 2024, when officers detained Way for a vehicle code violation. During the stop, the officers allegedly discovered a firearm in the vehicle.
Way was subsequently arrested and booked at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Division on a charge of carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle in violation of California Penal Code Section 25850(a). The LAPD did not release further details about the incident.
