A brutal murder-for-hire plot has led to the indictment of two St. Louis men, Anthony Stewart, 25, and Patrick Robinson, 23, in connection with the killing of 18-year-old Dwayne Wysinger Jr. in 2021.
According to the indictment, Stewart and Robinson conspired to commit murder-for-hire and carried out the crime on August 14, 2021, in St. Louis. The indictment accuses them of locating Wysinger’s vehicle, waiting for him to appear, and then opening fire, striking him multiple times.
The investigation, led by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, revealed that Stewart and Robinson were told there was a bounty on Wysinger’s head, prompting them to carry out the deadly attack.
A motion has been filed to hold Stewart and Robinson in jail until trial, citing the seriousness of the crime and the potential danger they pose to the community. The charges against them include one count of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and one count of murder-for-hire.
It is essential to note that charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations and do not constitute proof of guilt. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Szczucinski.
The murder-for-hire plot has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the need for continued efforts to combat violent crime in St. Louis. As the case moves forward, the Grimy Times will provide updates on the trial and any developments in the investigation.
In the meantime, the community is left to grapple with the senseless killing of a young man, and the alleged involvement of two individuals who are accused of carrying out the crime for financial gain. The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of violent crime and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.
