‘Stickz’ Sentenced to 4 Years for DC-Pawn-Shop Gun Heist

WASHINGTON – In a brazen burglary, Niquan Odumn, 23, of the District of Columbia, was sentenced to 48 months in federal prison for his role in the December 2023 heist of a Maryland pawn shop.

The A&D Pawn Shop, a Federal Firearms Licensee, in Glen Burnie, Maryland, was targeted by Odumn and at least four co-conspirators on December 13, 2023. Using a portable saw and crowbar-type tool, the group gained entry and stole at least 34 firearms, including rifles, shotguns, and pistols.

According to court documents, Odumn, aka ‘Stickz,’ pleaded guilty on March 6 to conspiracy to commit theft from a firearms licensee and to possession of stolen firearms. In addition to the sentencing, U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson ordered three years of supervised release.

Odumn was arrested on March 25, 2024, and has been detained since. The sentencing comes on the heels of co-defendant Juwon Markel Anderson, 22, of the District of Columbia, receiving an 84-month prison sentence for his role in the burglary and subsequent attempt to sell several of the stolen guns.

The investigation into the pawn shop burglary involved the ATF Washington Field Division and the Metropolitan Police Department, with assistance from the ATF Baltimore Field Division. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Shehzad Akhtar with valuable assistance from former Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Lipes.

Niquan Odumn, also known as ‘Stickz,’ will serve 48 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release for his role in the Maryland pawn shop burglary. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of law enforcement collaboration and the consequences of firearm theft.
