Super 4 Seasons Car Wash Busted for Religious Discrimination Scam

New York – In a scathing crackdown on religious discrimination, New York Attorney General Letitia James has halted Super 4 Seasons Car Wash’s Passover pricing scam that exploited Jewish customers.

Super 4 Seasons, a Rockland County car wash, was found to be charging Jewish families preparing for Passover over three times the standard price for car washing services. The ‘Passover Special’ was a brazen act of religious discrimination that Attorney General James vowed would not stand.

‘Targeting Jewish New Yorkers with deceptive pricing around Passover is a clear act of religious discrimination and will not be tolerated,’ said Attorney General James. ‘My office will hold businesses accountable when they exploit families’ religious observance.’

The investigation began in April 2024, following multiple complaints that Super 4 Seasons was charging $169 for services typically offered at $47. Undercover testing and thorough reviews of sales records confirmed the discriminatory practice, which had been ongoing since at least 2018.

The car wash’s promotional signs falsely advertised ‘Passover Packages & Up’ as the only options available, while employees explicitly stated that standard services were for ‘Jews,’ who needed to pay more. However, non-Jewish customers were offered and sold standard-priced services with no mention of any religious-based promotion.

Super 4 Seasons is now forbidden from advertising or offering discriminatory pricing around religious holidays. Failure to comply will result in a penalty of up to $75,000. Attorney General James has also issued a consumer alert, urging caution against such scams during Passover and other religious observances.
