Suzanne Ellen Kaye, Threatening FBI Agents, Florida 2021

A Boca Raton woman was sentenced to 18 months in prison for threatening to shoot FBI agents in videos she posted on social media.

Suzanne Ellen Kaye, 61, made the threats in three videos posted on social media in January 2021, after FBI agents contacted her to ask questions about her potential involvement in the January 6th United States Capitol riot.

In the videos, Kaye announced that she would ‘shoot their a–’ if FBI agents showed up at her house. The videos were seen by the FBI, who arrested Kaye at her home on February 17, 2021.

A jury found Kaye guilty in June 2022. U.S. District Judge Robin L. Rosenberg imposed the sentence.

The case was investigated by the FBI Miami, West Palm Beach Resident Agency and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Mark Dispoto and Shannon O’Shea Darsch.

The sentence was announced by U.S. Attorney Markenzy Lapointe for the Southern District of Florida and Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey B. Veltri of the FBI, Miami Field Office.

Kaye’s sentence is a reminder of the serious consequences of threatening law enforcement officials. The FBI takes such threats seriously and will continue to investigate and prosecute those who make them.
