Two South Carolina men, Mister T. Crocker, 36, of Columbia, and Lashaun Fair, 37, of Anderson, were sentenced Thursday, February 9, 2017, for their roles in a sprawling, 13-year drug trafficking operation that pumped millions of dollars’ worth of cocaine, crack cocaine, and marijuana across state lines. The operation spanned South Carolina, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, and Texas, feeding addiction and violence in communities from Atlanta to the Upstate Carolinas.
Crocker was arrested July 1, 2014, alongside co-defendant Kelvin Fulton, after buying approximately 180 grams of cocaine from Walter Lee in Anderson, South Carolina. Federal prosecutors detailed how the network functioned as a tightly run criminal enterprise, with Atlanta-based suppliers feeding regional distributors like Fair, who prosecutors say moved kilogram quantities with cold efficiency.
Lashaun Fair, a major cocaine distributor in Anderson, was caught on federal radar after agents observed him leaving a stash house on November 3, 2014, moments after purchasing a full kilogram of cocaine from the organization’s source in Atlanta. His role placed him at the center of the distribution web, servicing lower-level dealers and flooding local streets with high-purity product.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Andy Moorman, the lead prosecutor on the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) case, laid out the scope during sentencing, emphasizing the longevity and reach of the conspiracy. OCDETF, a Justice Department initiative, targets precisely this kind of entrenched, multi-state trafficking network.
The court handed down a 30-month federal prison sentence for Crocker and 60 months for Fair, reflecting the severity of their involvement. While not the kingpins, both were deemed critical cogs in a machine that corrupted neighborhoods and evaded law enforcement for over a decade.
The investigation was a sprawling, multi-agency effort involving the DEA, IRS Criminal Investigation, Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Anderson Police Department, Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, Greenville Department of Public Safety, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol, Richland County Sheriff’s Office, SLED, Franklin County (GA) Sheriff’s Office, and Douglas County (GA) Sheriff’s Office—proof of how deeply this syndicate had to be dismantled.
