Methamphetamine Distribution Lands Wisconsin Woman in Prison for 4 Years, Grimy Times Reports
A 32-year-old woman from Stone Lake, Wisconsin, has been sentenced to 4 years in federal prison for possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Tabatha Case pleaded guilty to this charge on January 3, 2019, and was sentenced on March 8.
The government’s investigation revealed that Case regularly traveled to Minnesota between 2016 and 2018 to purchase large amounts of methamphetamine. She then transported the methamphetamine back to Wisconsin and sold it in the Minong area.
During the investigation, Case sold methamphetamine to a confidential source working with law enforcement on six separate occasions. In a disturbing twist, it was also revealed that Case sold over 20 firearms to methamphetamine suppliers and customers while she was actively dealing methamphetamine.
The charge against Case was a result of an investigation conducted by the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office, Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, and Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution of this matter was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron Wegner.
Tabatha Case’s conviction serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact of methamphetamine distribution on communities across Wisconsin. The Grimy Times will continue to follow this case and provide updates on any developments.
