GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE – In a fiery act of sabotage amidst Minneapolis’ turmoil, 24-year-old Shador Tommie Cortez Jackson has been charged with the heinous crime of arson against the Target Headquarters. The arrest came swiftly as law enforcement identified Jackson through surveillance footage showing him breaching the store’s glass doors and starting a blaze inside the mailroom.
Jackson’s initial appearance in court was today, where he faced Magistrate Judge Tony N. Leung. His detention follows the chaos of Wednesday, August 26, when false rumors surrounding a homicide fueled widespread rioting and looting. Jackson is now facing one count of arson as federal authorities lead the investigation, joined by the ATF, Minneapolis Fire Department, and local police departments.
The incident unfolded at 10:55 p.m., with Jackson breaking into Target using a ‘Sidewalk Closed’ sign and igniting a desktop fire in the mailroom. He was apprehended later that night by Richfield Police, found in possession of stolen goods. Assistant United States Attorneys John Docherty and Chelsea Walcker are now handling the prosecution.
Despite the charges against him, Jackson is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Minnesota, reminds readers to stay tuned for further developments. For more information, follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
