Tariq Dazour Walker, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Florida 2024

A violent felon has been sentenced to 120 months in prison after being caught with a firearm. Tariq Dazour Walker, 27, of Pensacola, Florida, pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.

The crime took place on December 4, 2024, at the Pensacola Village apartment complex, where multiple witnesses identified Walker as the shooter. At the time of the incident, Walker was a convicted felon with multiple prior felony convictions, including robbery, grand theft auto, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin stated that removing violent offenders from communities remains a top priority for his office. Heekin commended the combined efforts of state and federal law enforcement partners in keeping neighborhoods safe and vowed to aggressively prosecute those who terrorize the streets.

Pensacola Police Department Chief Eric Randall reinforced the city’s commitment to ensuring public safety. Randall praised the unwavering collaboration between local, state, and federal partners in the pursuit of keeping neighborhoods safe from armed felons.

The conviction and sentence were the result of a joint investigation by the Escambia County Sherriff’s Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Pensacola Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey M. Tharp prosecuted the case.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protect communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
