Billy Dan Peavy, Tax Evasion, Texas 2023

Billy Dan Peavy, 64, Sentenced for Tax Crimes

BEAUMONT, Texas – In a shocking turn of events, Billy Dan Peavy, a prominent businessman from Silsbee, Texas, has been sentenced to 12 months and one day in federal prison for federal income tax violations.

According to court documents, Peavy pleaded guilty to two counts of filing false income tax returns and one count of aiding and abetting in the preparation and filing of a false corporation income tax return. The charges stem from his failure to report income from his businesses, Beech Creek Disposal, Inc. (also known as NBC Disposal, Inc) and Caneyhead Construction, Inc. on his 2007 and 2008 tax returns.

As part of the plea agreement, Peavy was ordered to pay $351,766 in restitution to the IRS, representing the amount of taxes owed. He also agreed to pay civil penalties and interest, totaling over $100,000, and a fine of $5,000.

In a surprising show of remorse, Peavy paid off the full amount of restitution prior to his sentencing date, earning praise from the court. He also submitted numerous letters of support from the community, highlighting his service and contributions.

The case was investigated by IRS Criminal Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Randall Fluke.

Peavy’s sentencing marks a significant blow to the business community, serving as a warning to those who would engage in similar tax evasion schemes.
