Columbus Man Convicted of Drug Trafficking and Gun Crimes
A federal jury has convicted Terrance Colvin, 39, of Columbus, Ohio, on six counts of drug and gun crimes related to 28 kilograms of narcotics found stashed in hidden compartments of a vehicle being hauled from California to Polaris Fashion Place.
According to court documents and trial testimony, Colvin faces at least 15 years and up to life in prison for his crimes.
Local HSI agents in Ohio were notified in May 2024 by HSI Albuquerque that the New Mexico State Police had stopped a commercial car hauler. One of the vehicles was set to be delivered to Polaris Fashion Place in Delaware County. Investigators found 21 kilograms of methamphetamine and seven kilograms of cocaine hidden in two compartments of the vehicle.
Colvin took an Uber to Polaris Fashion Place to retrieve the vehicle upon delivery and drove it to his apartment in the 801 Polaris Apartments. He accessed the hidden compartments to transfer the narcotics, which law enforcement had replaced with sham narcotics, into a duffel bag before being apprehended by law enforcement.
In a subsequent search of Colvin’s apartment, agents discovered and seized additional bulk amounts of narcotics, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine. They also seized three loaded firearms.
Colvin’s criminal history includes arrests and convictions for various narcotics and weapons-related charges, including kidnapping, receiving stolen property, driving under the influence, obstructing justice, and disorderly conduct.
