Bank Robbers Indicted in Jefferson County
BIRMINGHAM, AL – In a shocking turn of events, two men from Jefferson County have been indicted for a series of bank robberies in the area.
The victims of the robberies include a BB&T Bank on Meadow Brook Road in Birmingham and a Regions Bank on 2nd Avenue SW in Graysville.
The indictment, which was filed in U.S. District Court, charges TERRY LYNN FOREHAND, 54, of Birmingham, and DERRICK TERRELL BIVENS, 52, of Mulga, with three counts of bank robbery.
Each bank robbery charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The FBI investigated the case, in conjunction with the Hoover Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Assistant U.S. Attorney John J. Geer III is prosecuting the case, which has left many in the community shaken.
According to the indictment, the robberies took place on June 7 and June 27. The exact dates of the robberies are as follows:
June 7: BB&T Bank on Meadow Brook Road in Birmingham
June 27: BB&T Bank on Meadow Brook Road in Birmingham
June 27: Regions Bank on 2nd Avenue SW in Graysville
