Grimy Times EXCLUSIVE: Methamphetamine Trafficking Rocked Picayune, as two local men were sentenced to federal prison for their roles in distributing the deadly substance.
Timothy Jackson, 42, and Paul Simmons, Jr., 33, both from Picayune, were handed down sentences by U.S. District Judge Sul Ozerden on December 14, 2017.
Jackson was sentenced to 140 months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release, while Simmons received 89 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release.
The duo pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine as part of a five-person indictment against a group of individuals who were distributing methamphetamine in the Picayune area.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, with Assistant U.S. Attorney John Meynardie leading the prosecution.
