Enrique Torres-Beiza, Reentry of Removed Alien, Louisiana 2025

Enrique Torres-Beiza, a 40-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for reentry of a removed alien, in violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a). This sentence was handed down on August 14, 2025, by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

According to court documents, Torres-Beiza, also known as “Enrique B. Torres,” reentered the United States after being previously deported on December 26, 2018. He was found to be unlawfully present in the United States while being housed in the Terrebonne Parish Jail, Terrebonne, Louisiana, and serving his sentence for a second offense, driving under the influence, conviction.

On or about October 26, 2024, Torres-Beiza was discovered to be in the United States illegally, prompting an investigation by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff\’s Office. The subsequent prosecution was led by Assistant United States Attorney Carter K.D. Guice, Jr. of the General Crimes Unit.

Torres-Beiza\’s sentence includes 18 months imprisonment, one year of supervised release, and a mandatory $100.00 special assessment fee. This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protecting communities from violent crime.

Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson praised the efforts of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff\’s Office in investigating this matter. The Operation Take Back America initiative streamlines efforts and resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN) to target and dismantle criminal organizations. By working together, law enforcement agencies can more effectively combat illegal immigration, reduce crime, and protect American communities.

In addition to his prison sentence, Torres-Beiza will be subject to one year of supervised release. This will provide an opportunity for authorities to monitor his activities and ensure compliance with the terms of his release. The $100.00 special assessment fee is a mandatory penalty imposed on defendants convicted of certain crimes, including reentry of a removed alien.
